Booking on 12Go in 5 steps

1

Search your route and date

Enter your departure and arrival cities and your travel date. On a busy route like Phnom Penh → Siem Reap you will see more than 200 departures in a day.

2

Filter by type and sort

Choose buses, vans, ferries, taxis or flights, then sort by recommended, cheapest or fastest.

3

Compare rating, vehicle and departure point

Each departure shows the company, its customer rating, the vehicle class (van, seater, sleeper…) and the name of the departure station. Check that the station is convenient for you.

4

Pay online

The price shown is per adult, taxes included. Enter the passenger names and pay.

5

Keep your e-ticket on your phone

You receive the ticket by e-mail. Keep it on your phone along with the address of the departure point, and arrive early.

6 things to check before you pay

The departure point

There is no single central bus station in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap: each company leaves from its own station or office (Capitol from Orussey Market, Giant Ibis from its own station…). Check the name on your ticket and plan your tuk-tuk ride.

The vehicle class

"Van 15pax", "Seater 45", "Sleeper", "Hotel Bus": on the same route these are very different experiences. Minivans are often faster and cheaper, coaches roomier, sleepers made for the night.

The arrival point

Like departures, arrivals are at each company's station — not always in the centre. Look at the arrival station before booking.

Border routes

Buses to Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City) and Laos (Pakse) run normally, but there is currently no bus between Thailand and Cambodia: the land border has been closed since June 2025. Read our border and visa guide.

Your passport for border buses

To enter Cambodia your passport must be valid for at least 6 months on arrival (UK Foreign Office). Check the rules of the neighbouring country too before you buy an international ticket.

The real comparison

Compare the rating together with the number of reviews, and the vehicle together with the price. See our company reviews and bus prices.

When should you book?

On the main routes, departures are plentiful — on 10 October 2026, 12Go listed 245 bus and minivan departures from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and 202 to Battambang. Even so, 12Go flagged Phnom Penh → Siem Reap as a high-demand route that day.

A few days ahead is usually enough for a flexible traveller. Book earlier if you want a specific departure time, a sleeper berth on a night bus, or a boat to the islands at a precise time — and on routes with only a handful of daily departures such as Kratie, Mondulkiri or Koh Kong.

Booking a bus in Cambodia: your questions

Can I book Cambodian buses online?
Yes. On 12Go you can compare and book most companies serving the main routes — Giant Ibis, Larryta, Vireak Buntham, Capitol, Cambolink21, Kimseng and many others — and receive an e-ticket by e-mail. Some companies also sell tickets on their own website.
Where does my bus leave from?
From your company's own station or office — it is written on your ticket. Phnom Penh and Siem Reap have no single central bus station. See our companies and stations guide.
Do I need to print my ticket?
Your ticket arrives by e-mail; keep it on your phone. If the ticket itself says a printout is required, follow that instruction.
Can I book a bus from Bangkok to Cambodia?
Not at the moment: the Thailand–Cambodia land border has been closed since June 2025, and 12Go only offers flights between Bangkok and Siem Reap or Phnom Penh.
Is it better to book through my guesthouse?
It can be convenient, especially if a hotel pick-up is included. Just ask which company and which vehicle you will travel with, and compare the price with what you see online.
